Temporary protection granted to refugees affected by the conflict in Ukraine who can find refuge in Spain.
Due to the serious violation of international law and the principles of the Charter of the United Nations, Ukrainians have been displaced from their Nation.
WHO CAN FIND TEMPORARY PROTECTION FROM UKRAIN IN SPAIN?
As a consequence of the military invasion by the Russian armed forces that began on February 24th, the temporary protection in Spain embraces:
a) Ukrainian nationals residing in Ukraine before February 24, 2022.
b) Stateless persons and nationals of third countries other than Ukraine who enjoyed international protection or equivalent national protection in Ukraine before February 24th, 2022.
c) Ukrainian nationals who were in a situation of stay in Spain before February 24th, 2022 that, as a consequence of the armed conflict, they cannot return to Ukraine.
d) Third-country nationals or stateless persons legally residing in Ukraine on the basis of a valid legal residence permit (be it permanent or other such as students) issued in accordance with Ukrainian law and cannot return to their country or region.
e) Ukrainian nationals who were in an irregular situation in Spain before February 24th, and who, as a consequence of the armed conflict, cannot return to Ukraine.
f) Members of the families of the persons referred above in the following terms:
- to the spouse or their de facto partner
- to their unmarried minor children or their spouse, without distinction as to whether were born in or out of wedlock or were adopted.
- other close relatives living together as part of the family unit at the time of the circumstances related to the mass influx of people displaced and totally or mainly dependent on them.
